I spent just one night in Hirvi.
Arrived very late reception was close.
It was not a problem , because i had a door code to back doors.
Hotel is very nice , but from outside looking like a poor.
Room was huge with fast wifi and big bathrrom.
I was satisfied.
Downstairs is reception and breakfast restaurant.
Breakfast is absolutely enough with various sausages and herings.
Bread are excellent!
This hotel are in almost nowhere (very small town) , but i will be 
remember my nice staying there.
Unfortunately is a litlle a bit expensive , but it is Finland...

Good Hotel with nice staff

We have chosen this hotel overnight on our route to Northern Lapland, as it is very convenient for traffic in the area and on the E75. The hotel's own homepage is in English/Finnish. The reception is open only on weekdays from 9pm to 2pm. Visitors outside these times (like us) receive a message with a number code for the back entrance and a location where the key is located. Hotel Hirvi, very pleasant stay with very good price-performance ratio

We chose the hotel due to its good location  on the way from oulu to Helsinki
The reception is unfortunately only working until 21, which made us hurry up to arrive in due time. We made It and the receptionist told us via phone, that she even would have stayed longer for us

The building welcomed us with a rustique socialistic appeal, which was consistent up into the rooms. Old  windows with too little insulation, furniture, which has sustained from the 80s, and bedcovers with some stains were not exactly, what we expected for a price around 90euros per night. The room temperature was on top below comfort level and could not be increased - eventually due to the corner room we got.

The breakfast is served between 6.30 and 9, which contributed to our hasty retreat the next morning

Overall so bad, that it was almost funny...,

Not worth the price 

The hotel staff were friendly and the room and bathroom were clean. The hotel is in an older state, but in terms of the price ratio it was fine. I could easily and free of charge park my camper in the hotel's own parking lot. I chose this hotel because it is about halfway between Helsinki and Rovaniemi and is in close proximity to some shops.

If you want to stay in Äänekoski I believe there are not that many choices. This hotel is old, but room was clean and staff very friendly. The breakfast was also good and the price was low even though there was quite big rock / blues / jazz festival in the town.

Old, but good price

Arriving at the hotel you are greeted by friendly staff, who were helpful when asked about the area and places to eat. The room is modest but functional, and most importantly clean. The only real issue I had with it was the fact that with the window open it was quite noisy from traffic, and with the window closed it was unbearably hot. It rained the evening I arrived so was not super-summery outside, but the thermometer in the room was showing 28 Celsius.
I cannot comment on the breakfast provided as unfortunately I had to leave early the next day.

Mostly comfortable apart from the heat

Good small hotel in Äänekoski, had stayed here for a week during a business travel during December 2010. Good staff, breakfast buffet spread was kind of very minimal with less options. It was freezing cold outside about -30 degrees but the hotel kept us warm with their courteous staff and good heating units.

The have a small and nice bar, good food and yes they have a swimming pool steam and sauna ;) at that extreme temperature.
