First of all, the hotel is in the course of renovation. Literally at the moment.Therefore the   rooms are lottery: you may get  an unrenovated room, or   you may get  a freshly renovated one but in acorridor full of plaster, dyes and equipment. Mine was such. Sparklingly new and clean and quite bare, even without night curtains. Bed was surprisingly comfortable though. On the second day of my stay at least tea making equipment appeared in the room. No toiletries. Toilet and shower  are  in separate  rooms.
Summing up – if you are  on tight  budget and  need to stay in the town centre, the place is OK. If you need comfort, look elswhere.


Oh, well...

I was traveling by bicycle, and they provided a safe place for it right away. My single room was clean, comfortable, and cozy, and I felt very good about my stay. It was nicer than I expected, at an excellent price, and I would be happy to stay here again.

Better than I expected

There are three positive things about this hotel: very centrally located, pet friendly (no additional charge) and friendly reception staff). Rooms are outdated, in need of renovation, towels worn out, no breakfast offered and hard to get it before 10 o’clock anywhere else (only Vaidila Hotel offers breakfast from 8 o’clock, but make pre-booking).

The hotel was very old. The 90's stayed in this hotel, from the walls of the 90's and the stained glass windows, to the bed and table in the room. The bed is still quite suitable for sleeping, but the room is very cool, the windows are blowing. It's good that the room has two extra dense blankets - sleeping under three and it was warm. The bathroom has an ice tile. But the price below the article is 18 euros for a single room.

We traveled in our car from Russia to Germany and for the first time we chose the route through Lithuania. Since crossing the Belarusian-Lithuanian border took quite a long time, the decision to choose the hotel had to be made quite late in the evening. The city of Alitus is relatively close to the Lithuanian-Polish border, and for this reason I stopped at it to spend the night here. Although we were welcomed here very hospitably. As relatives! It was very pleasant, because we were already quite tired. We liked the room. There were two German shepherdesses who did not take an extra fee for one day. It was short, but kind. We had a great rest, we had another hard day to spend here.

The Hotel Dzukia

After wasting a good couple of hours at the border, I arrived at this place quite late. Parking is right behind the hotel. The receptionist was friendly enough, despite speaking only Russian. The cable TV had ONE foreign channel, which was more than what I expected. The hotel may look a bit outdated, but who cares... comfy enough and perfect for my needs.

Pleasant surprise for my expectations.

My first impression was excellent since the reception desk clerk immediately offered me a safe and locked place to put my bike. Then I was positively surprised by the price: €18.00 for a single room. My room was very pleasant and cosy, and the reception desk clerk was easy-going and helpful in every way.

Extremely poor price-value ratio. We paid 75 euros for triple room. It included breakfast, which we had to take in a cafe about 200 meters from the hotel. Hotel is old fashioned and outdated, would never stay here again

Back to 80s

The hotel's service is terrible (if you can call it a hotel, rather a nightclub). The director of this hotel is an unbalanced male (if you can call him a man at all) who couldn't fulfill his obligations and provide us with enough rooms. The smell in this hotel is disgusting. Everywhere dirt that hasn't been cleaned for weeks, if not more. In the toilets only soap and toilet paper, no shampoos and other things (maybe at 2* and shouldn't be, I don't know). Breakfast is not included in the price and you can get it for a group of 10 people at the same time.

It's a disgusting place.

The hotel's location is excellent, in the rest of the islands of the Soviet Union in a tumultuous sea of capitalism. Bank cards are not accepted, there is no breakfast. You can have breakfast at a cafe by the way. The portions are just huge for your money. Everything reminds you of the Russian hotels in the deep. Good that you were immediately warned that in the next room were celebrating a professional holiday by Lithuanian builders. They moved to another room.
